On the heels of President Obama’s State of the Union speech calling for aggressive investments in clean technologies, CALSTART, the foremost non-profit organization in North America working to accelerate the commercialization of clean, energy efficient transportation technologies and services, released a report titled “Speeding High-Efficiency Truck Adoption: Recommended Policies, Incentives and Investments” in collaboration with a blue ribbon task force of more than forty industry leaders from fleets, the manufacturing sector and suppliers. Collectively, they called for performance-based incentives and policies to accelerate American leadership in the global advanced truck market to grow jobs, decrease dependence on oil, and clean the air. The report was funded by the Energy Foundation.

Joe Dalum, President of Odyne and a Task Force member was quoted in the report saying,

“Odyne supports efforts that, like the ones outlined in this report, will increase the adoption of high efficiency medium and heavy duty trucks. Accelerating the deployment of advanced fuel saving technology will help reduce our nation’s dependence on imported oil, create jobs, lower operating costs, reduce emissions, and often result in quieter operation.”
